Evans' Metal Fabrication, Inc. was started in 1979 by three brothers - Bobby, Donald, and Tony Evans - in a small barn behind Tony's house. They began making BBQ chicken grills and doing odd metal jobs. By 1981, all three brothers were working full time and devoting all their energy into making Evans a success. Tony retired in 1992 while donald and bobby serve as president and vice president until the sold the company to the second generation of the evans' family in october of 2016. The operation has grown to a manufacturing facility that is over 140,000 square feet located on twelve acres of land in eastern North Carolina and serves the United States and countries around the world. In 1992, we changed our name evans machinery and Metal Fabrication, Inc to make potential customers aware that we could do much more than custom metal work. Our tobacco processing equipment and duct work have been shipped to countries all over the world and we have a field crew capable of installing and repairing your new and used equipment. In 1998, we purchased our biggest competitor, MacTavish Machine Manufacturing Company in Richmond, VA and combined forces to become a leader in the tobacco processing equipment industry. By joining forces, we have over 140 years of engineering and design experience in stemmery equipment and job shop fabricating and a company capable of doing a full turnkey project with full engineering support. In 2006, we acquired the fertilizer handling and spreading equipment product line from Agricraft Company which was going out of business. We decided adding this new product line to our existing tobacco processing equipment line and job shop capabilities would be a win/win situation. In January of 2008, we changed our name to include all facets of our organization and became Evans MacTavish Agricraft, Inc.. We manufacture the highest quality and most efficient Tobacco Processing Equipment and Agricultural Bulk Handling & Spreading Equipment in the world. we have a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant with computer numerical controlled equipment which can produce precision parts for all applications.
